The Aadhaar correction form is the official paper form you fill at an enrollment center to fix or change details on your Aadhaar. UIDAI does not publish a separate “correction” form it is the same Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Form, on which you simply tick the service and the single field you want corrected. There are versions for adults, for children, and for NRIs. You enter your existing Aadhaar number, your name, and only the field that needs changing, then attach proof. The form itself is free; you pay only the standard service fee at the centre. It is the offline counterpart to the online myAadhaar update.

When to Use Correction Form vs Online Update
Use the online myAadhaar portal when you can; it is faster and, for documents and address, currently free. The paper correction form is for what cannot be done online: biometric updates, photo, mobile number, and email all require an in-person visit with the form. Name, date of birth, and gender corrections also typically route through a center using the form since they need verified proof. So the guideline is straightforward: address and document updates can be done online; everything else must be done on the form at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. If your online request was rejected, the form route at a centre is usually the fallback.
Step-by-Step: Fill and Submit Aadhaar Correction Form
Fill it in capital letters, in black ink, entering only the fields you are changing.
- Write your existing Aadhaar number, full name and tick the service (Update/Correction).
- Fill only the field you are correcting; leave the rest blank.
- List the supporting document you are submitting for that field.
- Take the completed form and original documents to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
- Let the operator verify the documents and capture biometrics if the change needs them.
- Pay the fee and collect the acknowledgement slip with your URN.
For a name, only a minor spelling variation is allowed via simple correction; a substantial name change needs matching identity proof. Keep the slip; the URN is how you track the request.

Get the form only from the official UIDAI website, under My Aadhaar, then Downloads, then Enrolment and Update Forms. UIDAI provides separate PDFs for adults, for children aged five to eighteen, for under-fives, and for NRIs, so download the one that fits your case. Centres also keep printed copies, so you can fill it there if you prefer. Avoid third-party sites offering “Aadhaar correction forms,” as they may be outdated versions or data-harvesting traps. The official PDF is free; never pay anyone for the form itself.

Attach an original document that proves the specific field you are changing. For a name correction, a proof of identity such as a passport, PAN, or voter ID; for address, a proof of address like a utility bill, bank passbook, or ration card; for date of birth, a birth certificate, passport, or marksheet. Processing Time After Submission
Once submitted, a correction usually reflects within about 5 to 30 days, with address changes often quicker and name or date-of-birth corrections taking longer; UIDAI’s outer service standard is up to 90 days. You can track progress with the URN on the acknowledgement slip via the “Check Aadhaar Update Status” page, and you will get an SMS when it is done. After approval, download a fresh eAadhaar from the portal. If nothing has moved after about 45 days, visit the center with your slip or call 1947 with the URN.
