Apply For A PAN Card Online via NSDL

You can easily apply for a Pan card online by following the given steps:

Step 1: Visit the ‘Online PAN Application-NSDL’ portal.

Step 2: Select the ‘Application Type’ in accordance with your nationality (Indian/Foreign Citizen).

Step 3: Select your ‘Category’ from the drop-down menu. 

Step 4: Fill in your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number in the application form.

Step 5: Review and accept the terms and conditions, then enter the captcha displayed on your screen.

Step 6: Review the form and click on ‘Submit.’

Step 7: A token number will appear on your screen and will also be sent to your email address.

Step 8: Next, click on ‘Continue with PAN Application Form.’

Step 9: Your browser will redirect you to a new page. You can submit your documents there in one of the following modes. Applicants can either submit their documents electronically through e-KYC and e-Sign, scan and submit them electronically through e-Sign, or forward them physically.

Step 10: Now, choose between a physical copy of a PAN or an e-PAN Card.

Step 11: Fill out the form with your and your parents’ basic information and click ‘Save Draft.’

Step 12: Click on ‘Next.’

Step 13: Now, under the ‘Personal Details’ tab, state your source of income, address for communication, residence address, office address, telephone number, email ID, and representative assessee details.

Step 14: Click on ‘Next.’

Step 15: Under the ‘Contact & Other Details’ tab, enter your area code, AO type, range code, and AO number. You can find these details in the tab below.

Step 16: Click on ‘Next.’

Step 17: Under the ‘AO Code’ tab, provide proof of your identity, address, and date of birth. Ensure that the declaration form is filled out. Following that, upload your photograph and signature according to the instructions. In addition, upload the supporting documents.

Step 18: Click on ‘Submit.’

Step 19: On the next page, enter the first eight digits of your Aadhaar Card and review the whole application once.

Step 20: On completing the application, click on ‘Proceed.’

Step 21: Now, you will be directed to the payment page. Here, select the mode of payment and agree to the terms of service to continue.

Step 22: Click on ‘Proceed to Payment.’

Step 23: The fee amount and transaction ID will be displayed on the screen. Click on ‘Pay Confirm.’

Step 24: You will be directed to a payment gateway. Select the preferred payment method and proceed with the transaction.

Step 25: Upon successful payment processing, an acknowledgement will appear on the screen. You can continue by clicking on ‘Continue.’

Step 26: To authenticate your Aadhaar, accept the declaration and click the ‘Authenticate’ button.

Step 27: Now, click on ‘OTP Authentication and enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 28: Click on ‘Continue.’

Step 29: Select “Continue with e-Sign,” then enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number. The Aadhaar-linked mobile number will receive an OTP.

Step 30: Enter your OTP and submit the application to receive an Acknowledgment slip in PDF format using your date of birth as the password.

Apply For A PAN Card Online via UTIITSL

You can also apply for a Pan card through UTIITSL. You need to follow the below-mentioned steps to do the same:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UTIITSL.

Step 2: Under the ‘PAN Card Services’ drop-down menu, click on ‘Apply PAN Card.

Step 3: Scroll down and click on ‘PAN Card for Indian Citizen/ NRI’ if you are an Indian citizen/ NRI or ‘PAN Card for Foreign Citizen’ if you are a foreign national.

Step 4: On the next page, click on ‘Apply for New PAN Card (Form 49A)’.

Step 5: You will then be directed to Form 49A, where you can submit your application either physically or electronically. The digital mode offers Aadhaar-based eKYC, eSign, and DSC options. 

Step 6: Determine the Applicant’s status using the drop-down menu. Furthermore, you can request an e-PAN card or a physical PAN card.

Step 7: Click on ‘Submit.’

Step 8: Fill in the following information: full name, gender, age, date of birth for individuals, date of incorporation for companies, address for communication, resident state, office state, representative state, and Aadhaar details. 

Step 9: Click on ‘Next Step.’

Step 10: Choose your Identity Proof, Address Proof, and Date of Birth Proof.

Step 11: If verified correctly, the Applicant can now go ahead with making an online payment by clicking on the “Make Payment” button on this form.

Step 12: After choosing a payment gateway option – BillDesk or PayU India – applicants will be redirected to the payment gateway site. The applicant can select either gateway based on the bank issuing the Applicant’s payment card.

Step 13: The authentication pop-up will appear on your screen if your payment has been successful and you qualify for a PAN Card. Click on ‘OK’

Step 14: Enter your contact information and your parents’ details. 

Step 15: Click on ‘Next Step.’

Step 16: Provide your home address, business address, and source of income. 

Step 17: If you are under 18, fill out the representative assessee details and click ‘Next Step.’

Step 18: Upload the documents and click ‘Submit.’

Step 19: The screen will display an acknowledgement slip once formalities have been completed successfully. For future reference, you can download or print the slip.

How To Apply For Reprint or Change Details on Your PAN Card Online?

Other than applying for a new Pan card, you can also request for reprint or corrections to your Pan card online. Here’s how you can do the same online:

Step 1: Visit the ‘Online PAN Application-NSDL’ portal.

Step 2: Under ‘Application Type,’ click on ‘Changes or Corrections in Existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card (No Changes in Existing PAN Data).’

Step 3: Select the category from the drop-down menu. In the application, you must enter your full name, date of birth, email address, mobile phone number, nationality, and PAN number. 

Step 4: Accept the declaration and enter the captcha displayed on the screen. Click on ‘Submit.’

Step 5: The token number appears on the following page. Keep a copy of the same for future reference.

Step 6: Click on ‘Continue with the PAN Application.’

Step 7: A new page will open in your browser. Select the mode of document submission from the options below. The options are e-KYC and e-Sign, Scanned Images, or Physical Submissions.

Step 8: Now, choose between a physical copy of a PAN or an e-PAN Card.

Step 9: Enter your name and the last four digits of your Aadhaar Card.

Step 10: Enter your basic information and your parent’s details as specified in the form, then click ‘Next.’
