Step 1: Visit the official NSDL E-Governance portal. 

Step 2:  Navigate to the ‘Services’ section at the top of the homepage and select the ‘PAN’ option. 

Step 3: You will get redirected to another page encapsulating everything associated with the PAN card. 

Step 4: Scroll down to the ‘Change/Correction in PAN Data’ section. Click on ‘Apply.’

Step 4: You will be directed to the different webpage where you have to fill out the correction form. Choose “Changes or Correction” under the ‘Application Type.’

Step 5: Choose the appropriate ‘Category’ from the drop-down menu. For instance, select ‘Individual’ from the list if your PAN contains your name. However, choose’ Company’ from the menu if your company’s name is registered on the card.

Step 8: Once you have submitted your application, NSDL will register your request and send a Token Number to your registered email address. 

Step 9: The page suggests three options for document submission. Choose the “Submit scanned images through e-Sign on NSDL e-gov” option. 

Step 10: Furnish all the required details, including your father’s name, your mother’s name (optional) and your Aadhaar Number. Click on ‘Next.’

Step 11: The website will redirect you to a new web page where you can update your address. 

Step 12:  Upload all the mandatory documents like proof of identity, proof of address, proof of age, and PAN. 

Step 13: Sign the declaration and click on the ‘Submit’ button. 

Step 14: You will be redirected to the payment page upon submission. You can pay through different modes, including Net banking, Demand Draft, Debit or Credit Card. 

Step 15: The website will generate the acknowledgement slip once you complete the payment. 

Step 16: Take an envelope and mention the ‘Application for PAN Change’ and the acknowledgement number on top of it. Put all the physical documents along with the acknowledgement slip and send this envelope to the NSDL e-gov office.

How Can You Download the PAN Card Correction Form? 

You can download the PAN Card correction form online by visiting the official website of the Income Tax Department (www.incometaxindia.gov.in). On the website, go to the ‘Downloads’ section, and select ‘Forms’. It will show you the list of all the forms available for download.
