Jan Aadhaar Card Rajasthan : How to Apply, Download and What You Get
Jan Aadhaar is Rajasthan’s own family identity system, introduced through the 2019-20 state budget under the tagline “One Number, One Card, One Identity.” It replaced the older Bhamashah card that most Rajasthan residents will be familiar with.
Every family is assigned one 10-digit family ID and each member within that family receives their own 11-digit member ID. Together these form the primary access point into almost every welfare scheme the Rajasthan state government runs.
Your UIDAI-issued Aadhaar remains unchanged and is required during enrolment. Jan Aadhaar links to it rather than replacing it.

Who Is Eligible and Why It Matters
Any family residing in Rajasthan is eligible to apply. In practice nearly every household in the state needs one, since most state benefits are accessible only through Jan Aadhaar.
A single family ID provides access to:
- Chiranjeevi health insurance
- Subsidised ration under the National Food Security Act
- Old-age, widow and disability pensions
- State scholarships
- A range of Direct Benefit Transfer payments
Since benefits are tracked at the family level rather than across separate individual records, the state can identify duplicates and fraud more effectively. The scheme also has a built-in preference for registering a woman as the head of family so that cash benefits are directed to her directly. Without Jan Aadhaar, most Rajasthan state schemes are not accessible.
How to Apply for Jan Aadhaar Card?
Any adult in the household can handle the application through their own SSO login or at an e-Mitra kiosk.
- Log in at sso.rajasthan.gov.in or visit an e-Mitra kiosk and open the Jan Aadhaar app
- Enter the Aadhaar number of the head of family and verify via OTP
- Add every family member’s details along with their Aadhaar numbers
- Upload the required documents and e-sign the form
- Save your enrolment ID. Once two-level verification is complete, the family ID and member IDs are issued
Applying through your own SSO account is free. Going through an e-Mitra kiosk involves paying the standard service fee. The card is typically ready to download within 7 to 15 days of application.
Documents Required for Jan Aadhaar Card Rajasthan
Gather these before starting the application to avoid interruptions midway:
- Aadhaar numbers for the head of family (preferably a woman) and all other members, as these drive the entire verification process
- Proof of residence in Rajasthan such as a utility bill, rent agreement or bank passbook showing a Rajasthan address
- A mobile number for OTP verification
- Ration card and age proof for family members
- An income document such as an ITR or notary-verified income declaration for income-linked schemes
Newborns without Aadhaar can still be added at an e-Mitra kiosk using a birth certificate. The Aadhaar link is marked as pending until it is obtained.

- Visit janaadhaar.rajasthan.gov.in and go to the Jan Aadhaar Card download section
- Enter your Jan Aadhaar number or acknowledgement ID
- Verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile
- The PDF downloads immediately
The official Jan Aadhaar app also supports this. Log in via SSO and tap Get E-Card to save it to your phone.
If you do not remember your Jan Aadhaar number, the Know Your Jan Aadhaar feature lets you search using your Aadhaar or registered mobile number. Keeping a copy on your phone is advisable as ration shops, hospitals and scheme counters all ask for it.
How Jan Aadhaar Connects to Welfare Schemes
Jan Aadhaar is the backbone of how Rajasthan delivers welfare. Chiranjeevi health cover, NFSA ration, pensions, scholarships and all DBT payments run through the family identifier, with money routed to the bank account linked to the family.
One point that causes frequent confusion: a benefit may show as “paid” on the state portal but still not arrive in your account. This usually happens when your bank’s NPCI Aadhaar seeding is incomplete. Jan Aadhaar linking and NPCI bank seeding are two entirely separate processes. If a pension or subsidy is not being received, check both your Jan Aadhaar bank details and your NPCI seeding status at your bank. Scheme status can also be tracked at no cost through the Jan Soochna portal.
