SBI PMAY

The government has introduced the CLSS or the Credit Link Subsidy Scheme under PMAY to give home loans with interest subsidies to the urban poor to purchase or construct properties. Prime Minister Awas Yojana SBI, or PMAY SBI, provides qualified households home loans at a 6.5% annual interest rate. This program does not require female ownership for the CLSS MIG I and CLSS MIG II schemes.

Understanding the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Scheme

The Indian government launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in 2015 to provide affordable housing to all inhabitants by 2022. The government hoped to offer its beneficiaries an interest subsidy when they took out loans to buy or build a house through this Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). The scheme was created to assist the middle-income population, economically disadvantaged groups (EWS), and low-income groups. (LIG). The scheme is divided into two components based on the areas it serves: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G).
